Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Dokal collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use our platform.
We collect information that you provide directly, such as your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, sex, profile photo, address, national ID (Teudat Zehut), health fund (Kupat Holim), and supplementary insurance. We also collect health data you voluntarily provide (conditions, medications, allergies, vaccinations), appointment data, notifications related to your care (confirmations, reminders), and technical data (IP address, device type, usage logs).
We use your information to: provide and improve our services; manage your appointments and medical records; send appointment reminders and notifications; identify you to your practitioners and health funds; generate anonymized analytics; comply with our legal obligations under Israeli law. The legal basis for processing is your consent, the performance of a contract (service provision), and compliance with Israeli law (PPL 5741-1981 and Amendment 13).
Health-related information you provide is treated with the highest level of confidentiality. This data is used solely to facilitate your interactions with healthcare practitioners and to provide you with relevant health management features. We do not sell or share your health data with third parties for marketing purposes.
We may share your information with: (a) healthcare practitioners you choose to consult; (b) health funds (Kupat Holim) with your consent; (c) technical service providers (hosting, notifications, analytics) who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements; (d) public authorities where required by law. Your data is NEVER sold to third parties.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption, access controls, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, your data is permanently erased per our deletion procedure. Audit logs may be retained for up to 7 years as required by law. Inactive accounts may be anonymized after 5 years of inactivity.
Under Israeli law (PPL, Amendment 13, 2023) you have the right to: (1) Access your personal data; (2) Correct inaccurate data; (3) Delete your data (right to erasure); (4) Port your data to another service (Medical Data Portability Law, 5784-2024); (5) Object to direct marketing; (6) Lodge a complaint with the Privacy Protection Authority (PPA).
